ANTALYA (AA) – The leading tourism company in Europe, TUI, named its plane that makes the Amsterdam-Antalya flight “Antalya”.

The plane, which came from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, was welcomed with a ceremony at Antalya Airport. World champion gymnast Ayşe Begüm Onbaşı was chosen as the naming mother of the aircraft. The members of the protocol poured water on the “Antalya” letter on the plane, which was welcomed with a water jewelry ceremony and flowers.

Nadir Alpaslan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, who attended the ceremony, said in his speech that tourism is a sensitive sector that is affected by events other than its own dynamics.

Stating that the world has been fighting the epidemic for more than two years, Alpaslan said, “The tourism sector was one of the sectors that was most negatively affected during the epidemic. Noting that Turkey is one of the ambitious countries in tourism, Alpaslan emphasized that every precaution is taken for the health and peace of tourists.

State Airports Authority Antalya Airport Chief Director İlhami Şimşek stated that the increase in the number of visitors from Europe is pleasing.
